Zeta Group will begin the 15th of October the construction of an habitacional complex and a four stars hotel in Jacó de Garabito, Puntarenas. The complex includes six towers of 10 floors and 38 apartments each one, in addition to a 72 rooms hotel, two swimming pools, Internet, businesses center, meetings room and restaurants.
The hotel will be administered by the international Ramada chain and its name will be Ramada Resort & Residences Jacó Beach. The first stage will include the hotel and two towers and will be ready in two years. The second one will be concluded in the 2010. Alvaro Valverde, Commercial Director of the Zeta Group, preferred not to detail the cost of the work. Nevertheless, he considered gains for the group of about $80 million by the sales of the condominiums during the first two years, in addition to the creation of 150 jobs.

Valverde considers that a 90% of the 228 apartments will be bought by foreigners. The system of residences will work under the modality Resort Condominiums International (RCI). That means that once acquired the condominium, the residence could be interchanged by its owner, to another one anywhere of the world affiliated to the system. It could be also rented under the RCI system. They will be in charge of the administration of the condo.

Garabito is the fifth corner of the country with more square meters of construction in process (177.542) this year. Between January and June of the 2006, the amount of square meters of new constructions surpassed in a 46% to all the constructions of the 2005. According to the mayor of Garabito, Luis Fernando Villalobos, this year the Municipality will collect ¢400 million by tax to the construction, ¢260 million more than in the 2005. Villalobos agreed that the foreigners are those who invest and buy condominiums the most. Garabito has a rate of unemployment of 8.5% and a Indice de Desarrollo Social (IDS) of 48. The IDS analyzes areas like educative infrastructure, infantile mortality and consumption of electricity. Between more stop it is, better is the sociodemográfica situation. |
